Sausage and Rice
1 1/2 cups rice
1 pound of sausage
1 (14 oz / 400 g) can of crushed tomatos
2 medium onions, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp cummin powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbs lemon juice
salt and papper
1. Boil 3 cups water, add rice, and turn heat to low until all
water is absorbed (usually about 20 minutes).
2. Fry onions, garlic, and sausage (break it up as it cooks),*
3. Add tomatos, rice, and seasonings to frying pan and cook 5
minutes.
4. Pour mixture from frying pan into the rice, cook 20 minutes,
adding water if necessary to keep it moist and from sticking to
bottom of pan.
*If you use dry sausage, cut it into bits and add it to the onions
and garlic after they have become transluscent.
