Stovetop Macaroni and Cheese

1/2 pound of macaroni or other small pasta
3 cups of cheese, grated
1 can (8 oz / 220 g) evaporated milk
2 eggs
4 Tbs butter
1 Tbs Dijon-style mustard

1. Boil macaroni in a pan.
2. Mix milk, eggs, butter, and mustard in a bowl
3. When macaroni is easily speared with a fork, drain off water and return to stove. Reduce heat to low.
4. pour in milk mixture and 1/2 the cheese. Mix well.
5. Gradually add remaining cheese until melted (about 5 minutes), stirring regularly.

Optional
* add 1/4 cup of toasted breadcrumbs
* add 2 cups of diced ham
